VIENNA, Va., May 7, 2018 – Criterion Systems, Inc. today announced the company was awarded a $20 million Task Order to provide cybersecurity and privacy services to the US National Science Foundation (NSF). Encompassing more than 20 full-time employees, Criterion is the prime contractor for this unrestricted task order under GSA Schedule 70.

Under this Task Order, Criterion will work directly with the NSF’s Division of Information Systems (DIS), a division within NSF’s Office of Information and Resource Management (OIRM). NSF’s Information Technology (IT) Security Program ensures that the NSF infrastructure and assets are appropriately protected while maintaining an open and collaborative environment for scientific research and discovery.

“We are pleased to support NSF’s drive to achieve cybersecurity and privacy leadership,” stated Promod Sharma, Criterion’s President and CEO. “This is an important win for Criterion – an unrestricted task order where we were rated the highest technical proposal with the lowest price – just as we are graduating from our Small Business status and a key expansion to our Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (CoE).”

“In just two years Criterion’s Cybersecurity COE has grown from a handful of security engineers to more than 200 support and service personnel. Criterion’s cyber personnel are trusted advisors to key government decision makers, delivering services oriented to a dynamic, threat-based strategy,” continued Sharma.

Criterion will provide specific services in a wide variety of cybersecurity and privacy (CS&P) areas, including CS&P program and project management support; CS&P oversight, compliance, and policy support; Risk Management Framework (RMF) and FISMA program support; contingency planning support; CS&P operations and engineering support; vulnerability management support, incident response, and IT forensics.
