Criterion Systems is a premier sponsor for the UNLV Tech Connect ’18, the university’s annual student/employer career networking event for Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Management Information Services, IT, Mathematics and Science students. It takes place Monday, March 5. Wayne Maddock, Criterion’s Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager in Las Vegas, will be speaking on a panel called “Get a Job”. He and the other panelists will discuss what skills and abilities they would like to see in today’s applicant. Wayne is also looking forward to discussing Criterion— who we are, what our mission is, what our culture is, as well as what we expect from interns and employees.

Wayne has more than 23 years of experience in Information Technology with the last 13 years focused in Cybersecurity Operations, Incident Response, and Information Assurance. Prior to his current role as an SOC Manager, Wayne led the Department of Homeland Security/ Transportation Security Administration Information Assurance Division (IAD) Security Operations group in Arlington, VA, and oversaw the move of the team to the Integrated Technology Center (ITC) in Bossier City, LA. During his career, Mr. Maddock has worked for leaders in the cybersecurity industry, including McAfee, Hewlett Packard, CipherTrust, and Secure Computing, and has provided strategic direction, practical implementation, and business management solutions for Universities, Fortune 1000 companies and Local, State, and Federal government agencies.

In January, Wayne was named an Advisory Board Member for the University of Las Vegas (UNLV) Lee Business School. With a large presence in the Las Vegas area, Criterion has also been active in local cyber security organizations like the Southern Nevada Cybersecurity Alliance (SNCA). We are working hard to help build a center of excellence and talent pool for cyber security in the region, and are looking forward to meeting students on Monday!
