Embracing Feedback to Fuel Your Personal Brand Pre-Conference Session at the TWC Virtual Leadership Conference

Last Wednesday afternoon, May 27, The Women’s Center hosted its third online breakout session for its Virtual Leadership Conference. (The conference itself will take place June 8.) The topic was “Embracing Feedback to Fuel Your Personal Brand” and was presented by Kim Wensel of Pattern of Purpose. Kim helps people, especially women, to identify their strengths and tell their stories in powerful ways to help them pivot their careers. She also works with brands on storytelling.

Kim kicked off the presentation by telling her own story as to how she got to where she is today. Her funny, authentic discussion touched on the many common criticisms women in business receive today (you are too direct, too intimidating, too nice, etc.). She then talked about how to deal with this, while describing the distinction between feedback and criticism. Kim offered some great advice on how to solicit feedback to provide the data we all need to defend our requests for further responsibility, a raise, a new job, etc.

Registered attendees of the conference are invited to join upcoming pre-conference (and one post-conference) sessions on the following topics:

  • June 3 @ 4:30: Rising Above Your Fears and Embracing Your Passion, Purpose, and Power! Presented by L.Y. Marlow
  • June 17 @ 4:30: Leadership Forum: Managing a Multi-Generational Workforce Facilitated by Stephanie Mango with Lori Trawinski and Mike Todd

If you are interested in attending the event, tickets can be purchased here. Criterion is a patron sponsor of this event.
