17 Sep Criterion Systems Supports The Learning Center-Las Vegas Cybersecurity Apprentice Program
VIENNA, Va., September 17, 2018 – Criterion Systems, Inc. announced today that it is one of the first companies to engage with The Learning Center-Las Vegas to support their new Cybersecurity Apprentice Program. The state of Nevada recently received a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to expand its apprenticeship programs. With nearly 100 employees in Las Vegas, many of them former military, Criterion will tap into this program to recruit talent for its growing local business.
“Cybersecurity is a field that represents an exciting opportunity for people transitioning out of the military as well as young talent,” said Bob Heckman, CIO of Criterion Systems. “We are happy to be supporting this great initiative and looking forward to welcoming new apprentices within the next few weeks.”

In 2018, its Las Vegas office was recognized with a Patriotic Employer Award, recognizing its support of multiple employees who are reservists, including personnel from the Navy, Army, Air Force, and National Guard, in addition to more than 40 retired and prior enlisted people working at the site.
