11 May Criterion a NOVA Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Award Nominee
We are proud to have been nominated for the 2018 NOVA Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Award. This award honors individuals, businesses and non-profits for above-and-beyond business leadership and corporate social responsibility.
Criterion’s nomination included our support for local organizations, including being an annual patron sponsor for The Women’s Center and groups of employees volunteering for the Arlington Food Assistance Center and the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. It also discussed the Criterion Cares program, where employees make donations each month to a charity of their choice, and activities Criterion employees pursued across the country in 2017, including:
- Criterion’s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) team, which joined 1,200 riders across Western Pennsylvania in raising nearly $600,000 for local programs and services for people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS).
- In Kansas City, Criterion partnered with a client to participate in United Way’s Day of Caring to rehabilitate a large garden at the Niles campus, an organization that provides residential and day treatment programs for children and teens.
- We also made a corporate contribution to Team Rubicon, a disaster response veterans service organization helping with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in Houston.
The commonality among all our efforts is an underlying desire to help improve women and children’s lives through education, skill development, healthcare, and play.
“We have always held the belief that true success requires us to give back to our community,” said Promod Sharma, Criterion President and CEO. “We are honored to have been recognized for the outreach and support efforts our employees and Criterion have made in both the Northern Virginia region and across the country.”
The finalists and winners will be announced at a ceremony on June 13 with an audience of 600+ leaders including the region’s top senior executives, political leaders, business professionals, entrepreneurs and emerging influentials.
