25 Sep Comment on the New National Cyber Strategy
As reported in the Washington Post’s Cybersecurity 202 last week, the Trump administration unveiled its national cyber strategy, which authorizes a tougher stance in cyberspace. Bob Heckman, Criterion’s CIO commented,
“I’m glad to see the gloves coming off and the Trump administration getting serious about deterring cyberaggression from Russia and intellectual property theft from other foreign adversaries like China, which is costing U.S. firms billions annually. I look forward to seeing the specifics about how the strategy will be implemented. As noted in the article, I share the concern that without strong executive leadership from the White House, agencies will approach their priority actions under this strategy in an ad hoc manner that does not translate into a decisive national policy. Another reason for the formation of a National Cybersecurity Agency.”
