I have worked in the IT field for more than 37 years, mostly as an IT manager on government contracts. I watched many of my co-workers make the move to Criterion and was curious. I talked with some of them and was impressed with their stories about how the company provided them with a friendly, supportive work environment. I reached out to the CEO (Promod Sharma) to see if Criterion could use my skills and was overwhelmed with the interest Promod showed as he welcomed me into the Criterion family. Criterion Systems is the third company I've worked for since I retired from the military. What sets Criterion apart from the previous companies are the people. Criterion has always cared about their employees. I have had the chance to work with upper management a multitude of times coordinating fun, local employee outings. From an all-you-can-eat mouthwatering Brazilian Grill celebrating the holidays to chartering a deep sea fishing boat, where we caught pounds and pounds of red snapper (pictured), these outings provide a great boost in morale and shows that Criterion pays absolute attention to their employees! After 31 years of service I was nervous about making the transition from the Federal to the private sector. The leadership and employees at Criterion have been amazing and made me feel welcome since day one. I could not have joined a better, more supportive company to make my transition. I have worked in a variety of industries and a large number of companies in my 54 revolutions around the Sun. Since moving into the Government contract arena, I have worked for no less than five different companies and each of those for a number of years. I am in my second year here with Criterion and I can tell you that we are doing things right. From the front-line contractor on up through to Promod, our CEO, we have the customer in mind and we get the task done and done well. I have never worked remote full time before this assignment and I feel more supported and appreciated than I ever have in any other place I have worked.
My favorite thing about Criterion is the management team. This is the first time I have worked with such a supportive, involved management team, from the site team lead to headquarters. Employees have the choice of three Medical Insurance plans – an HSA, an HMO, or a PPO. All Medical Insurance plans include prescription drug coverage. Criterion covers the full cost of employee HSA and HMO coverage and a majority of the cost of family coverage. Employees can opt out of Medical Insurance and choose to receive a taxable benefit of $450 per quarter.
Vision Insurance is available for employees and their dependents. Criterion covers the full cost of employee coverage and a majority of the cost of family coverage.
Criterion provides Short and Long Term Disability Insurance at no cost to employees.
Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
Criterion provides Life and AD&D Insurance at two times the annual salary, up to $250,000. There is no cost to employees.
Education & Training Assistance
Criterion offers up to $3,000 per calendar year for job-related training or tuition reimbursement as approved by the supervisor.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Criterion offers Heath and Dependent Care FSAs so employees can contribute pre-tax dollars to pay health and dependent care expenses. Criterion covers the administrative cost of the benefit.
Criterion partners with LifeMart for discounts on items like movie tickets, travel options, and shopping.
Employees may use Paid Time Off (PTO) for vacation, sick, or personal leave. PTO accrues according to the following schedule: 0-2 Years: 15 Days; 3-7 Years: 20 Days; Over 7 Years: 25 Days. Criterion offers 10 paid holidays per year.
Dental Insurance is available for employees and their dependents. Criterion covers the full cost of employee coverage and a majority of the cost of family coverage.
Criterion matches 50% of up to 8% of pay contributed by employees as allowed by law.
Voluntary Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
Employees can elect additional Voluntary Life Insurance for themselves (up to $500,000), their spouse (up to $250,000), and their children (up to $10,000). Employees cover the cost of the benefit.

Employees who participate in the HSA medical plan can open a Health Savings Account. Criterion makes a competitive contribution to employees’ HSAs on a per-pay-period basis.
