Criterion Systems, Inc., is seeking to hire a Middleware Team Lead that can work 100% remote.  Once hired you will support a USDA-Forest Service contract based in Boise, ID.  Established in 1905, the Forest Service (FS) is a federal agency that manages public lands in national forests and grasslands under a founding principle, "To provide the greatest amount of good for the greatest amount of people in the long run". Job Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of technical professionals.
  • Participating in regularly scheduled status meetings.
  • Managing system upgrade projects.
  • Reporting to Govt and Program lead with the status of the team activities.
  • Coordinating middleware team support with application Project Leads.
  • Working on Change Management processes to implement complex changes to the middleware infrastructure.
  • Provide leadership and strategic thinking in technical meetings to discuss and provide solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Preparing documentation for middleware support requirements.
  • Planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting on activities related to ongoing projects.
  • Managing daily task/project assignments.
  • Planning and leading projects/initiatives.
  • Overseeing and reporting on system patching/monthly maintenance activities.
  • Coordinating and overseeing On Call support (business hours and after hours coverage and scheduling).
  • Coordinate infrastructure changes (such as OS upgrade, storage migration, DB upgrades) with Engineering teams.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix shell scripting, WebSphere, Windows 2008/2012/2016, in large complex environments.
  • Experience working on build, deploy, release processes and with application integration middleware.
  • Creating, submitting and monitoring change requests.
  • Completing weekly/monthly/quarterly reports for project leadership.
  • Responding to incidents via email and/or phone within the required SLAs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • US Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a technical role.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Technical Project Manager / Technical Lead, specifically related to infrastructure operations or other technical operations teams.
  • 3+ years’ experience in incident, problem and change management.
  • 3+ years’ experience managing high visibility or mission critical aspects of an operations program and executing all duties independently or with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent communication, planning, organizational and relationship management/interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities and determine resource requirements.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support On Call function.
  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or four years of work experience to make up for the lack of degree.

  • Knowledge of SSL Certs used in Middleware components
