Our staff provides cyber security support to the Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration.

Criterion Systems is seeking to hire a Configuration Management Analyst to support a government customer in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Configuration Management Analyst will support Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration Cyber Security Task Order information technology configuration management and asset management functions. This position will also support the Engineering Manager in areas of procurement and property inventory functions as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The configuration management activities are more technical and closely related to IT processes.  Building our configuration management database (CMDB), defining configuration items (CI), and tracking those configurations using our processes will be their primary focus.
  • Provide technical support to engineering, architecture, and information assurance stakeholders on a variety of tasks, to include, gathering, maintaining, compiling, and manipulating data from various configuration databases
  • Perform analysis, and prepare reports and documents to support program meetings and to help resolve issues and problems
  • Maintains the master software library (MSL) for the organization
  • Maintains records and databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's hardware and software throughout their lifecycle and ensure compliance with vendor contracts
  • Identifies opportunities to minimize organizational cost through product standardization and tracking to the management teams
  • Coordinate with internal teams to develop and implement procedures for tracking software assets
  • Assist internal customers with procurement of software and hardware
  • Creates purchase orders for the acquisition of materials and performs related administrative tasks
  • Coordinate with the Property Manager on all shipping and receiving activities
  • Assist the Property Manager with completion of hardware asset inventories


  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline. Four years of work experience can be substituted for bachelor’s degree.
  • Five (5) years of related experience with duties above
  • Demonstrated experience with project management, configuration management, and software and hardware asset management principles.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a configuration management or IT asset management capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with local and remote staff
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently; assess priorities and operate in a flexible manner in order to meet the dynamic needs of the team
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Clearance requirement: Applicants who have a current DOE Q or DOD TS clearance are preferred. Applicants who do not have a current clearance must be able to pass the appropriate background investigations to attain one
