Our staff provides Policy and Governance Support Services as well as incidental advisory and assistance services to the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) for the National Nuclear Security Administration.  These services include ensuring compliance for various government programs, developing and reviewing IT and Cyber Security policy that affects the OCIO or the agency, providing Cyber Security and IT Governance and Analysis, data consolidation, Program and Project Management Support and Oversight, Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) oversight, and Financial Execution Analysis for all OCIO investments.  Additionally, our services extend to managing the communications for the OCIO and proactively engaging with stakeholders and customers, both internal and external. 

The Technical Writer will support the management consulting activities alongside the project/program manager, technical staff, and federal clients at The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The position requires an ability to take initiative and a willingness to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment.


Requirements

  • Responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of IT/Cyber Security Policy and Governance technical documents using approved government formats and templates with emphasis on being Section 508 compliant.
  • Gathers data and documentation necessary to prepare and edit technical documentation for all  IT/Cyber Security Policy and Governance team including financial, CPIC, FITARA, ePMO, and other policy/governance disciplines.
  • Edits and/or writes articles, publications, presentations, and other materials to communicate clearly and effectively research findings in regard to IT/Cyber Security Policy and Governance, technical developments, and other news and information to a wide range of internal and some external audiences.
  • Interprets and administers documentation/communication policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all documents are version controlled through the specified QA system.
  • Adheres to all configuration management processes and procedures.
  • Provides technical expert recommendations and support to other documentation requirements.
  • Provides substantive, innovative feedback and recommendations regarding document content, flow, and organization.

Minimum Requirements

  • Required – Bachelor’s degree or years of experience to be used in lieu of a degree
  • Required – 4 years or more of technical writing experience
  • Required – Ability to travel Required (10 or less days per month)
  • Required – Must be able to obtain a DoE "Q" level clearance
  • Required – Active US Citizenship
  • Preferred, but not Required – technical writing experience with an emphasis on Federal IT/Cybersecurity or Policy and Governance.
