I enjoy working for Criterion and have experienced nothing but positive vibes and open communication throughout the company. I am very happy and thankful for the opportunity to work here.
Maintaining systems and finishing a Computer Science degree at the same time can be challenging. Criterion has been very supportive in helping me manage it all and provided tuition assistance.
I worked for a large IT company for a little over 17 years. For me, the most important aspect of working for Criterion is that employees are more than just a number. We can pick up the phone and talk to anyone within the company when we are seeking answers to our questions, and are normally on a first-name basis.
When I transitioned from active duty Navy, I sought leadership roles within government programs to further my skills as an officer. Criterion has great clients for whom to do National Security work, and great Program Managers as mentors. My skills and responsibilities are growing very fast, and I have to thank the Criterion team for making my job so rewarding and satisfying.
Since I started at Criterion, I have worn many hats, from Proposal Manager, to Web Master, to having responsibilities for our SharePoint implementation and the employee newsletter. With every hat I wear, I am impressed with the level of teamwork that goes into everything. No person at Criterion works in isolation. We are a collaborative group, with many luminaries, leaders, and life savers. At the end of the day, everyone puts ego aside and works together to achieve the end goal. Whether it is a proposal, newsletter, hiring event, or technology fair, we recognize the value of teamwork!
I have been working in the IT Industry for 50 + years and have never been with a company as respectful of my skills, talents, knowledge, and background as Criterion Systems, Inc. and their Managers. I consider my hiring by Criterion as a gift from God. With this company I can feel productive and important to my Supervisor and other team members who have less experience. I am sought after for answers to questions that younger employees may have and I am brought in to support and validate decisions made by Managers. In short, I feel useful, important, and valuable – all of which are more important than any incentives that come from benefits, insurance, or salary.
I have worked in a variety of industries and a large number of companies in my 54 revolutions around the Sun. Since moving into the Government contract arena, I have worked for no less than five different companies and each of those for a number of years. I am in my second year here with Criterion and I can tell you that we are doing things right. From the front-line contractor on up through to Promod, our CEO, we have the customer in mind and we get the task done and done well. I have never worked remote full time before this assignment and I feel more supported and appreciated than I ever have in any other place I have worked.
Criterion Systems is the third company I've worked for since I retired from the military. What sets Criterion apart from the previous companies are the people. They accepted me from day one and continue to mentor me to make a stronger team. The project we are on allows us to telework which helps me as a single parent when it comes to flexibility. In my previous positions, I burnt most of my vacation time taking time off to take care of medical and dental appointments for my kids. Additionally, Criterion provided tuition assistance with my master's program in my first year with the company. I'm grateful to work with such outstanding professionals.
I came to Criterion after many years at a very small company, and it provides me the best of a small company and a large company. There is still a very personal touch by the executive leadership, as well as many great opportunities as the company grows. Criterion also invests heavily on employee education, certification and mentorship. It is clear that our people are the center of gravity of our success.
My biggest attraction to Criterion was the flexible work schedule and ability to telework, which allowed me to balance work and my personal life Since joining Criterion, I have also been provided opportunities for personal and professional development, successfully completing certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP). I have been with Criterion for over a year now, and have enjoyed and appreciated the company’s priorities, insight, and culture. I feel very fortunate to be a part of such a great company.
My favorite thing about Criterion is the management team. This is the first time I have worked with such a supportive, involved management team, from the site team lead to headquarters. There have been many opportunities to meet the management team and get to know who they are, making me feel appreciated and part of the company. Furthermore, there are great benefits and lots of opportunities for professional development. I believe Criterion has the best interest of employees at heart.
Working for Criterion has improved my quality of life and allows me to meet my family's needs as well as my own desire to continue to develop my professional career. It never gets boring. The team is tight knit and supportive, even though we come from different walks of life: educational, military, functional, and technical backgrounds. We all enjoy making the personal connection with the client and participating on diverse projects. We're in it to help the client and get the job done.
