Our expert-level staff analyze, create, implement, and support cutting edge technologies in support of the Digital Infrastructure Services Center (DISC) contract for the United States Department of Agriculture. DISC provides critical IT infrastructure, data center services, and cloud hosting for vital federal government functions.  


Job Responsibilities

  • Provide full system database administration support for its managed hosting and database-as-a-service to customers.  Our customers generally perform application administration;
  • Provide customer with assistance and/or guidance on hardware and software configuration and support.
  • Installation of the database software.
  • Monitor, analyze, and tune databases for maximum performance.
  • Grant and/or revoke privileges required to create and maintain the tables, indexes and other structures needed to store the customer’s data to a select group of personnel designated by the customer.
  • Recover the instance and/or database in case of a disaster scenario or a disaster test scenario.
  • Bind application software packages.
  • Create preparation scripts for RAC deployments.
  • Perform pre-install testing and problem resolution for RAC deployments.
  • Customize, optimize, and patch Oracle databases and application.
  • Secure and harden Oracle databases.
  • Assist development team with new release deployments.
  • Install, configure and maintain Oracle cluster environment.
  • Configure and maintain SAN devices using Oracle Automatic Storage Manager (ASM).

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle Multitenant architecture.
  • Knowledge of Oracle APEX and WebLogic support.
  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle database cross platform migration (especially UNIX platforms to Exadata).
  • Proficient in creating functions, procedures, and packages.
  • Strong experience with Oracle engineered systems notably SuperCluster and Exadata.
  • Advance experience with OEM 13c cloud options including chargeback.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience with job related skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree (preferred) in relevant field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience providing all activities related to the administration of computerized databases.
  • Must be US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
