Job Responsibilities:

  • Working with managers, ensures the equitable and consistent implement of approved policies and procedures throughout the Company; recommends revisions to current policy or proposes new ones to reflect contemporary management thinking or to comply with current legislation. Administers the Company’s affirmative action plans.
  • Coordinates with the Recruiting staff to ensure the recruitment and hiring of employees is conducted in accordance with all current labor laws and Affirmative action obligations; conducts new hire orientations and employee onboarding sessions.
  • Counsels and coaches managers on employee relations issues to maximize retention and avoid employment litigation; creates individual development plans and personal improvement plans.
  • Administers the Company’s Career Progression Program to ensure consistency and pay equity among all categories of employees in accordance with the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and related legislation.
  • Administers the Company Employee Benefits Programs to ensure adherence to all terms and conditions of the Summary Plan Descriptions and related contractual obligations; recommends revisions or new programs to reflect new trends in the labor market and to reflect current legislative requirements such as the ACA.
  • Ensures that records of all employees are maintained and updated each pay period in accordance with retention and privacy requirements; manipulates the data in Deltek, ADP or Excel spreadsheets to analyze the efficiency and effectiveness of the HR function and to provide management operational data such as Attrition Rates, Time to Fill open requisitions, etc.
  • As the Company grows, recruits, hires, develops, and rewards appropriately qualified HR staff.
  • Counsels senior management on HR issues and recommends changes to HR staffing and policies for the future.
  • Ability to interface with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to process and hold confidential, sensitive information.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and use standard office software, including Excel and Power Point.
  • Ability to work under pressure without losing composure.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as appropriate or as requested.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a Secret clearance is a plus, but is not a must

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of HR experience, at least 3 of which have been in a government contracting environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • US Citizen is a must

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PHR, SPHR certification preferred
  • Experience using ADP HRIS system.
  • Experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) or assistant FSO would be a plus.
