27 May 2022 Summer Intern Program Kicks Off

By Ernesto A. Brux, Marketing Intern
Criterion’s Summer Internship Program kicked off this week. This summer, nine interns, including myself, will be honing our skills and learning about what it is like to work at a fast-growing Federal Government contractor. As aspiring professionals, we plan to learn the skills, aptitude, and prowess necessary to surpass others in performance within each of our fields of interest.
In our program “kick-off” meeting, we discussed Criterion’s capabilities, values, certifications, reputation in the industry, and company history. As a leader in the cybersecurity field and information technology services, the company protects and secures our Nation’s resources through innovative IT solutions. We collaborate in providing systems integration services to modernize government systems, and address customer challenges with cyber-focused and mission-driven solutions.
In our meeting, we learned about the company’s organizational structure and leadership. The company’s COO, Charlie Doyle, and our CEO, Promod Sharma, sat in on the meeting too. Of particular interest to me, was a “tour” of our company blog, social media platforms, and the employee newsletter. I will be working with Elizabeth Albrycht, Criterion’s director of marketing and communications, which I am looking forward to.
Our work environment fosters six core values: Technical and professional excellence, mission focus, customer success, an employee-centric culture, strong ethics and integrity, and a commitment to community. This value system encompasses an environment that allows interns and employees to feel warm and esteemed.
Our interns seem delighted about this summer’s program.
- “I have joined a great internship program. Everyone I met was extremely nice.” Jack Vuong | Product Solutions and Development Intern
- “I think this summer program is great. I am looking forward to gaining work experience in this company and learning more about contractual work.” Julia Jones | Contracts and Purchasing Intern
- Technology Intern Grace Tran likes the interactive part of the internship. She has faith that the summer program will allow her to absorb the information necessary with her career of interest.
